Redpath calf shelters are used extensively throughout New Zealand & Australia by both small and very large calf rearing operators.
The Redpath calf shelter incorporates a unique “Durashade” roofing material to provide natural light to the shelter, whilst keeping the shelter cooler than standard type shelters with clear claddings. (Clear claddings are an option in cooler areas). The roof cladding contains very high quality light stabilizers and has a typical service life in New Zealand of between 6-7 years. Replacement cost for the roof covers is as little as $2.00 per sq/m + GST for the long life Durashade material.
Redpath calf shelters are usually supplied with “roll up wall blinds” for their full length on each side (or one side only). The roll up wall can be operated manually or with automatic motor drives which can be pre-set to the calf rearing operators desired temperature. It is important that excellent ventilation be maintained within the calf shelter for optimum animal health.
An “Autowinder” environmental controller monitors internal temperature and opens and closes the sidewalls automatically to suit.
Redpath calf shelters are manufactured from high quality RHS steel and are an “all bolt-together” kitset, making them simple to assemble and extremely strong in windy conditions.
Redpath building crews are based nationwide and we can fully construct your calf shelter on your site.
The calf shelter truss span (width) is available in three sizes 7.5m, 9.2m or 10.65m. These spans may be combined to make up a shelter with the desired dimensions. Posts and trusses are spaced at 3 meters lengthwise.
